What is wrong with Anbumani Ramadoss....

What is wrong with Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss. Looks like he is having this long standing fued with Dr. Venugopal and doesn't want to call it quits. It is really sad to see a great institution like AIIMS politicised purely for personal reasons.

Yes its indeed very sad. He had removed the distinguished AIIMS Director earlier but was forced to bring him back.

I believe the tipping point was the very public agitation by doctors against the sops to SC/STs last year.

Product of a caste based party and reservation who likes to preseve that entitlement. Nothings wrong with him, except that he knows where his votes comes from. Merit be damned.

The agitation was against OBC, not SC/ST, reservation bill.

One can also ask - whats wrong with Venugopal - he may be distinguished doc, but does not come across as an angel. It appears that AIIMS was politicized even before Anbumoni became Health Minister.

But Dr. Ramadoss has always been contrversial all along. Looks like he is brewing a new controversy. He is an "Union Health Minister" and he is not only constrained to AIIMS. From what I understand Dr. Venugopal commands a great respect among his people.

It is all about control. These two guys have been butting heads and the AIIMS and the common man who needs treatment suffers. But then, that is the way it goes, this is India.

Venugopal isn't the only person who can run AIIMS nor Ramadoss the only person who can run the health ministry. Venugopal should have left the politics to his boss, and his boss' political opponents, and focused on doing what he was hired to do. If he could not or did not want to do his job, he should have quit the position before indulging in politics.

It's a shame that Ramadoss and Venugopal dragged three institutions - Parliament, President and SC - into this mess.

So, is it fair to assume Venugopal got what he deserved? If yes, how do we make sure Ramadoss gets what's due to him???
