Hi folks,
Over the years this forum has proved to be a goldmine of ideas, suggestions, advise for me, and I would like to give back in my own small way... I've been thinking of a podcast (tentatively titled Pardes to Desh) - stories of NRIs who came back to India and made a difference to India in their own way.
Pardes To Desh literally means from "Abroad to Homeland." My initial thoughts on the podcast are:
It will be a weekly 15-20 minute interview (talk) or a feature (talk + music- Gimlet Media style).
Each episode will feature a different guest, Prefereably each guest will come form a different background/ occupation.
Initially I am looking at 13 episodes or 1 season.
The idea is to learn from their experiences, learn about their experiences, and most importantly, how they have made a difference to Indian society. The aim behind the podcast is to inspire others from success stories of the guests.
What do forum members think?
Do they see value in such a format/ show?
Suggestions on guests are welcome.
If any member has a 'face made for radio' (i.e. they would like to host this show) do let me know, I will be happy to discuss. The less the listeners hear my voice in all our shows, the better!
Background:
The idea behind this podcast came out of my own set of frustrations- I was looking for an answer to the question "Why is thing X like this in India? Why can't things be the way they are in Country Y" I am sure many of us have been in this situation.
When I was looking at creating shows for Kamakshi Media (this is not a plug) I thought those people who actually took charge of the situation they were in and brought about a change in their own way. Some got recognition, others did not.nature. And why not? Right from the Father of the Nation, to a list of Politicians, entrepreneurs, scientists, Yogis, sportspersons, artists, professionals... have had a stint abroad and then returned.
