Last December when visiting India I applied for PAN card in Hyderabad through an agent giving all the required documents, since I have US passport he askemd me to give US address and it will be delivered in 15 days. Till today nothing happened, he does not answer my calls, occasionally even if he does, he gives some other number for me to call. I looked up online about the PAN card application status, it says communication address not provided (I have given 3 proofs for address local bank statement, passport and drivers license). I want to know if any of you received PAN card giving US address or the agent gave me wrong information about having to give US address?.
It looks like opening a small shop and calling yourself PAN / Aadhar card agents a lucrative / no risk business in India, like fraudulent chit fund companies who disappear over night. Can you suggest what are my options? TIA.

Yes, I have received it here - US address. I filled out the 49AA form if I remember correctly. There is an additional fee for mailing it to an address outside India.
