1. At this point I have an IRA account and haven't yet done a rollover.

2. My plan is to roll over the 401K into my traditional IRA account after I finalize my job plans

3. After reaching India work out a plan to withdraw from my IRA.

I'm planning to move to Hyderabad at the end of the year. Most likely my workplace is Madhapur. My son who is 2 now will start school next year. I'm thinking of DAV right now. Any suggestions for good locality to settle down. I don't mind commuting to work abs am looking at only traditional Indian ...

Thanks for the guidance. I'll setup an IRA earlier then. I'll also find out about HR process. Still not sure if/how internal transfer works

Thanks. I read a bunch of threads and is still a bit fuzzy.

Seems like the best approach is roll over into IRA and withdraw a bit each year to avoid US taxes.
