You are better off taking all the furniture out of the original boxes. I moved last year & had all the new furniture in original boxes, customs people in Delhi levied duty on all the new furniture.

Can you recommend anyone, from whom I can seek some help, to prepare and file my US tax return by clubbing my Indian income.

I am a GC holder, R2I in Jan 2007. I recently spoke to the person who used to helf me file my US tax returns while I was in US. He recommended, that in my return I should not declare my India income (as US has no way to find out), which leaves me with my slary income in Us in 2007 for first few days ...

Toshiba - 20", bought it from a retailer in NYC paid $ 600 each for 220 volt versions. Nothing special required in India.

I am also looking for a Tax consultant who can help in filing taxes in Us. I am a GC holder.

Is there anyone on the forum from Delhi/ Gurgaon NCR, who can recommend a person/ company to help prepare/file US taxes.

We moved back to India - GGN in Jan 07, have 2 kids 5 & 4 year old. Both of them go to Scottish High School. We are very happy with the school.

We moved back to Gurgaon some 2 months back & have 2 kids 4.5 & 3.5 yrs old. Have registered them with Scottish High. Checked around with couple of schools here & they were the only ones who were ready to give admissions. Checked out the school, it seems to be pretty good.

I filled up myself.... seemed pretty easy & straight forward to me. In terms of docs, that was also very clear, all you need is copy of GC (front & back), check & photos (form is old, says side profile, but they take front facing only these days).

You have to mail the form. BCIS site only provides a fillable PDF. fill it & mait to Nebraska office. I sent my form in November & moved to India in Jan. The take between 3 to 6 months to process & can send to any address you specify in US or to US embassy in India.

Just go to NSDL website, fill up the form online, pay thru credit card, print form, attach all required docs & courier. They are very efficient.

I did that after I reached India & received PAN cards in exact 7 biz days.
