MT: Tax for US Citizen living in India
Friends, Many of you may have rolled over your 401k into IRA. Did you receive 1099-R? I have the confirmation slip from fund manager but not the 1099-R. The fund management firm is saying that 1099-R is just a reportable event and it will not affect tax. I was thinking I can ...

The foreign income is only earnings or also investment income? only earnings are tax-exempt (upto above limit). Disclaimer: I have not used FEI anytime. I am just reiterating what I learnt from this forum ...

MT: Tax for US Citizen living in India

coolman #187, I am using Turbo Tax (TT). It does not support e-filing from overseas. Additionally, it does not support Form 2350. I think that this may a limitation of TT specifically since the IRS website talks of many e-file providers and there is no such restriction listed there. IRS website e ...

Cricket: Commonwealth Bank Series - 2008

For those who were saying early on that this was not the right time for youngsters to get a look in - well, these youngsters have gained fantastic experience in playing Australia in Australia and have won. Now people will not say that Ganguly/Dravid need to be brought back in the ODIs - they are ...

Cricket: Commonwealth Bank Series - 2008

I am curious to see how Murali fares in his last game here on a dry pitch. He has been the biggest disappointment for SL. Maybe he is on the wane and now needs to develop a Teesra :p ! Batsmen have been typically wary of him all along. But in this series, they have whacked him. I have never seen ...

Cricket: Commonwealth Bank Series - 2008
There's a clear cut explicit law that states that a bowler cannot point the batsman back. Meaning, Ishant should have done everything else except to point back.
Agreed. Same goes for standing at the wicket when given out (Rohit). These players are young and ...

MT: Cricket IPL Championship - 2008

My position is nobody needs to watch these duleep/ranji games by being physically present. They are on TV and creating a market for budding cricketers, commentators, umpires. Very few will graduate to the next level of T20, ODIs, Tests, IPL (Maybe ICL will die now). The average cricketer will still ...
How many people are watching Duleep Trophy that is going on currently? Most of those players in the Duleep Trophy will be playing in IPL, and there will be millions of people watching them play.
OK ... I confess I am watching the Duleep Trophy when I am not watching U-19 ...

MT: Cricket IPL Championship - 2008

SRK made sure that since he chose Ponting, he got his tormentor-in-chief Ishant Sharma also in! But at what a price! Ishant gets 950K whereas Ponting makes a meagre 400K. Cannot explain it other than current form is making some of these players too pricey or too cheap. Soon we will see Ponting ...
