Starting a software consulting company
ashMan, How dare you write such things? Don't you know all these vendors / big guys from Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, Cognizant etc... are great visionaries? Isn't it only because of their great foresight / excellent planning / huge investments we are in this situation today. It was part of a very well ...

Poll: Single-most Important Reason which motivates us to R2I
Each person has his own special reason to R2I. The bullet points given by OP are all valid points, only thing is, the points apply to each person in different degree. Suppose someone is earning $100K per annum in 2007, as a Team Lead after about 8-10 years of work experience in US. Realistically ...

Poll: Single-most Important Reason which motivates us to R2I
No matter what everybody says, if there were no well paying jobs in India, the % of people r2i'ing would be almost negligible just like it was before this IT boom.
This is the real reason behind all our R2I discussion. How to hedge falling US dollar.
Lots of good points here. In addition I also think, an additional reason for this is the loss Congress party suffered in Punjab and Uttaranchal state elections. Which city in US would you settle in?
Another location not mentioned here is Raleigh (NC). The RTP area in/around Raleigh/Cary, I think is overall a decent location.
I have never lived there, but some people I know who live in Cary (NC), like the place a lot.
Any comments?

Selling RE in India - Tax differences between USC and INC
Bobus, Thanks for your time and effort. What I understand is : Irrespective of one's citizenship, one must pay capital gains tax to the Indian government, as the land is in India. (If short term, i.e. less than 3 years, then like a regular income;; if long term, 20% subject to possible duductions ...

hi, I tried to find answer to my question, but I am not able to come to any conclusion. So I am posting it here... I am in the process of finalizing a deal to buy land (near Belgaum, Karnataka) with the idea of exploring it for commercial activities 3-4 years down the line. This is subject to my R2I ...
