Settling down in Blore, hopefully for good :)
Congratulations Plan 2010. The feeling of owning a place of your own is so exciting. Reading your description, I started imaging how I am going to decorate our flat that we bought but never had a chance to decorate. When I travel to India this december hopefully I will get sometime to do it. Though ...

Is Male the head of the household?
. I think the buck stops with the man, and often it is his decision that gets followed. .
With money comes power and influence and whoever has the ability to earn more money can make the buck stop at them. I know it contradicts my earlier statement but I am ...

Is Male the head of the household?
I always thought of "head of household" concept to be applicable in joint families with many men and women and one main head to provide final approval to critical decisions. It could be a male or female (I am thinking of Baa from "baa, bahu aur baby" on star plus) I obviously want him to make more ...

Girls, what would you suggest be done?
Shell,
Enjoy it while you can. Its only going to last so long. Think of it as being taken care of just like you would have if you were in India. And yes, avoid WFH. I sometimes used to go to a coffee shop just to get away from my ILs and still be able to work away from the office environment.

Girls, what would you suggest be done?
Ladies, I had a question. What would you do if a friend handed you a box of Whisper (or any) brand thingies saying something like "Hey, I don't need them anymore, you can have it"? Lets not get into why she does not need it anymore... Someone handed it to me thus (a ...

Can a person be happily married without really being in love with the spouse?
Yes you are right. Love is an important ingredient in a good marriage. However how do you define love? My rudimentary (within the limitations of my vocabulary) definition would be love ~= respect + kindness + giving importance to the others needs and feelings Another way to ...

Can a person be happily married without really being in love with the spouse?
dbsji, I stand by my statement, love is like a gulab jamun, gives a high. A good marriage is like a balanced and satisfying meal of which the dessert is only one component. :)
What is good marriage? Is it not suppose to have ingredient of "love"? Edited: Sorry misread ...

Can a person be happily married without really being in love with the spouse?
Being happily married or not depends on the individual's personality. Some people are intrinsically happy and can find happiness in whatever they have. Contrast that to a person who always feels that there is something missing.
I somehow get a ...
