Please read the above post and give feedback on Billgate's school concept.

I see a big business opportunity. I have some plans for starting a Residential school similar to Bill gates school, which monitors each and every aspect of student (health, study, food, habits etc) and generate daily reports from the data they collect daily. This data minig is very useful, but very expensive.

Q1) Will you guys get inclined towards admitting your kids in the residential school which allows only Sat/Sun visits.

Q2)Does the location of school matter (State, East , West, North, South of india)? Assuming there is only one school in entire india with unlimited seats.

Q3)What makes you to get inclined towards this school and how different it should be when compared to other good schools?

No I wont be interested in such school as I am not in favour of sending my kids to residential school. I believe they will leave home any way for college so we and they should have the previlege of enjoing their childhood togather.

i dont support this idea either. also starting a schools should not be done with the motive like 'big business opportunity', it should be more service oriented.

I think you are asking the question from wrong set of folks, most of the folks here are either outside India or away from home town, and generally they have strong opinion about kids being brought up by parents rather than school admin.
Most of the kids going to residential schools in India are either of business man who have money but no time (and at times no higher education to bring up kids) Or of "netas" who want to "hide" their kids from their rivals (especially "netas" from Bihar).

So bottom line is in this forum you will get negative response, and of course I will not send my kid to such school..

Same here, would doubt it I'll send my kids to a residential school as I strongly feel that parents have a big role in training kids, especially till Grade 12. I would like to be around most of the time, if not 24X7.

NO. I am not interested. I will not send my kids to such schools and institutions where it is driven by money and not by good ethos.

#1 ...you have a great idea. Seriously.

These days most nuclear families in India are double income, and parents have everything EXCEPT time for their kids.

Parents in India are throwing money wherever they can to ensure that their kids learn the right stuff at the right age. They are hiring tutors for their 3 yr olds and paying anywhere from Rs. 5000-10000 month - just so that someone can come and their their kids ABC and 123 for one hour every day. They are even paying professionals to teach their kids sports, arts, crafts aside from what the school teaches them. It's just crazy.

It's happening because of 2 things:
1. parents feel guilty for not having time for their kids and so they want to make up for it. They want to "good indian" parents just like everyone else.

2. People's mindsets are changing - gone are the days when academics meant everything. These days everyone in India is getting the global exposure - and they realize that to compete in a global world, you need to be an all-rounder.

I think the concept of residential schools will start catching on again.
