Check this out, how fast India is becoming a developed nation....
At least in Bangalore, we can't watch CWG games on TV, Cable operators don't supply DD channels.

Commonwealth Games for common man in India!!
I am confused here. Who exactly is the common man? The guy who pays Rs300 a month to get a zillion channels or the guy that gets DD free of cost?

I have cable and receive atleast 4 channels of DD with CWG games. Who is your operator?

No one uses antenna these days, everything comes in cable at the least. You want to spend, can have something more.

Hathaway. No, they don't even supply the MANDATORY basic DD channels. No one can do anything to this publicly traded company, they are just too powerful to have their own business criteria.

The point is, the country is hosting an international event, but not everyone is given an opportunity to witness that. Whereas at the same time watching 'big boss' is no problem. The business guys are taking control. Neglecting 'people', and tricking them to get more business is such a new 21st century thing in India.

Little bit orthogonal to original intent, but relevant in this thread.
Do you know, you can get CWG in HD (High Definition). And quality is great. HD is something special, and tough to appreciate anything after that.
I guess most Satellite dish's offer DD in HD.
I was thinking I am going to see bridges falling in HD. But opening ceremony looked grand in HD.

I am really not understanding your point. DD is available to more Indians (that too free) than any other channel. All you need is an antenna.

Reminds me of my friend. He also made a strong statement (covering all 1 billion people living in India).
He said, "No one visits small shops now. Everything is available in malls now a days. Everyone goes to malls now."... I applaud you in making such strong statements. It takes guts to make a statement covering 1 billion people...
