So which one we should vote? The monogamist or the one who is best polygamist meaning had the most number of divorces? I think this should be the deciding factor in deciding the next US President.

Number of wives will hardly be a consideration for the republican nominee or the American President.

The Republican candidate gets selected by the evangelists. I recall reading somewhere that the divorce rate among religious pastors was the same as the normal population. So, I hardly think the evangelists will use the number of wives as a major issue while selecting their candidate. The key issues for them will be abortion, gays, etc.

It's a toss-up between Rudy and Newt -- except that Newt discarded one of his wives while she was in hospital for cancer treatment (sob. sob. :emcry: )

Following the pulse of the people -- will the evangelists have any influence this time around? Note that Jerry is the late Falwell now.

And if faith is not a major factor why is Hillary referring to her faith and upbringing so much these days? And Mitt Romney cannot get any traction in his campaign?

There was an old fellow of Lyme
Who lived with three wives at one time.
When asked, 'Why the third?'
He replied, 'One’s absurd,
And bigamy, sir, is a crime.'

I support Ron Paul but I wonder if he will get the nomination. He can beat anyone in any debate hands down. His line of thinking is so clear, its hard to find fault with any of hs arguments. and he hasn't mentioned God in all of 65 minutes

The evangelists are having a love affair with Fred Thompson - the TV star and hope he will be their Reagan.

I dont think they will go with Giulani - he fails all 3 tests - abortion, gays, gun control and is accused of adultery.

I say bring good ol Bill back. We need to work on an amendment for that pretty quick here.

What was good about Bill Clinton administration? Curious to know your view points..

Environmentally yes, his govt. was much more responsible than the present administration. But didn't stand up enough to not to succumb to the pressure of oil lobby to have any great progress in energy efficient measures and alternative fuel developments.

Economically I am not sure.He had maverick Fed chairman who controlled inflation through roller coaster rides of rate increases and decreases which had sort of bottled up effect.Look at the inflation now. I don't believe it's in single digits.

Intellectually, he reminds me of our own Subramanian Swamy who had lot of intellect but could not put it for good use when required on a consistent basis..

Internationally, he had the opportunity to curb Osama and alike and nip terrorism at its bud but failed miserably and his diplomacy wasn't at his best in Israel and Palestine policies. He was embroiled in his own shenanigans for the better half of his second term.

Bad judgement call here.. I thought you guys were discussing who is the best candidate for 2008 and didn't realize the discussion was something else.. prerogative(?) and favourite of other gender. Should have read all the posts unlike reading only last.

Yeah, but conversely we could have Dubya for a 3rd term!! Now that would suck. Hats off to whoever thought of the 2 term maximum clause.
