I will be working remotely for three months from Hyd connecting to US. I will work 8-9 hrs a day.

Please share your experiences with different broadband providers. I checked airtel and BSNL websites and their pricing structure is little confusing to me.

Is 512 kbps enough for this kind of set-up. Mostly I will remotely login to my desktop in US and work from 4 PM - 2 AM (india time).

Should I take unlimited option? How do I keep track of download/upload limit?

I am planning to setup a VOIP phone at my parents place in Hyderabad. Anyone knows if there is a local provider who can set this up?

Srinivas,

I have been using vonage for last 2 years without any problem. I got the unit from US. I am not aware of any local providers. The only thing you have to careful is use the device with voltage converter in india.

Any recommendations on a reasonable Internet Provider at Hyderabad? Do you have to sign a one year or similar contract? Can you cancel anytime?
