Process for getting a gas cylinder connection in Bangalore

Post by DosaiLvr »

The last time, ~2 yrs ago, I went to the agency/dealer near my house armed w/ my pan card (ratio card, voter card will suffice as well) and address proof - DL (driver's license), rental agreement, telephone/utility bill will work.

I had to pay a deposit for the cylinder and the regulator and was done.

The dealer will try to force you into buying a gas stove from him - especially in the case of a new connection. It is illegal for them to do that and you don't have to buy from them - I did not.

The local customer representatives of the producing companies - HP, Bharat, Indane, etc. are usually very helping in helping customers w/ "difficult" dealers.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dosailvr,

Thanks for the info. Any idea abt rates for the cylinder connection from Bharat and other govt agencies?

Jyoti is quoting me Rs2220, with Rs1500 for cylinder+regulator, Rs100 for pipe and Rs620 for the actual gas. Each time there is a refill I will have to pay the Rs620 again.

Yes,
I got mine from Jyothi Gas. Took 5 minutes and they were one of the few people who came and delviered at the designated time.
You pay about Rs 200 more per cylinder, but without all the documents that DL was talking about, I would do so gladly.

I need to get a Gas Connection and due to the problems with getting the household connection, I will have to go for Private Gas Connection at least for the time being.

Where can I find the contact numbers of such agencies ? I am near Indiranagar area, if you know any agency around there please share the contact info.

Thanks

I got mine through Jyothi Gas. Here are some that are not near Indranagar. best thing would be to call them and find a dealer close to you

Hello,
Is there any other MT with discussion regarding how to get PAN card and how long it takes to get one? Could someone share what other documents we can give to get a gas cylinder in Bangalore since we won't have the PAN card as soon as we land in B'lore?
