Finding a driver in Blr?

Post by chaloIndia »

Hi, We moved to Bangalore couple of weeks back. I want to find out how people usually find drivers? I don't know many people here yet, so word of mouth option doesn't seem to be working for me.

Can you mention the area where you are looking/living?

Thanks

Drivers usually solicit work at large apt. cmplxes. The security staff in my cmplx had referred some drivers in the past. You could try that at your cmplx, if you live in one, or speak w/ the security at a nearby cmplx. Let them know that you'd compensate them (for best results).

We've had good luck with instructors from local driving schools.

Use your office reference. You might have a person in the office managing all office drivers and he will be able to get you one.

At least that is how I found driver and he is ok.

Hi,
I'm planning to move to the Marathahalli area this summer. Would I be able to find realiable car drivers in that area? Are there any pointers/approaches that I should plan to take to book a driver?

Also, how much is the typical monthly amount that I should expect to pay for car drivers in that area?

Thanks in advance,

I totally agree with DosaiLvr's suggestion above. Security people and drivers already working in a big apartment complex are your best bets. I tried one agency who took my money and ran. :-). I finally found my driver through other drivers working at my complex. Old Madras Road has a Prestige apartment complex, and Marathahalli has a Tata Sherwood among others. You guys can try there.
