It's a decent offer. Find out what the other perks are? Generally after one year of service you can expect 4-5% 401K match, some discount on ESPP (employee stock purchase plan), some 3% pension plan etc. Cost of living is definitely less than NJ/DC. If you work in Wilmington city, there's an additional 1.45% city tax and have to worry about parking, but their location in Newark, DE is very convenient without the above problems. You can also check at www.salary.com for a comparision.

Hi,
Congratulations on the offer. Its a pretty decent offer, compensation wise. Are you offered a bonus? What is your Job Code, BAND, Title, and LOB? Band, Job code, and LOB are the most important factors you must consider when joining BofA.
I am not sure of the location in Delaware. I probably think it may be with Card Services.
Regards

Thanks guys,
This offer doesnot include any signing bonus or stock purchase plan.( They say for this particular position they dont have option.)
401 matching after 1 year..
Any suggestions with Work place and Work Culture in BOA at this location.
I guess the department is Card Services to be specific.
Thanks,
Bun

I am a little familiar with DE and and pretty sure that you will office out in the Wilmington HQ. There is a small Desi pop out there due to it being the HQ of Dupont and thats the good news.
The lousy news is that there is not even a decent airport that is less than 3 hrs drive, all the airports in the neighboring large metros. You can drive to Baltimore to see the sights and DC but both are long commutes on toll roads. Wilmington itself is a small city/town and most of the employees commute from the large metros, long story short its a boring place unless you are into Nature/camping stuff.
they have a university of delaware in wilimington branch with a decent sized desi student pop as it has a decent Engineering and MBA program (dupont chemicals)

Delaware, PA are both boring places. You might want to live somewhere between Philadelphia, Wilmington and King of Prussia.

PHL (Philadelphia airport) is just 35-45 mins away. This airport is expanding and can fly to India directly from PHL via BA, Lufthansa, and US Airways.

Depends on the person and what he's looking for. If one is starting a family, the low cost of living is a good positive. I agree that it's not a very interesting tourist place and doesn't have any nightlife but Philadelphia is 45 mins away. New York City/Washington DC are just 2 hour drives if you want to visit them on weekends. A big negative is Schools in DE are generally inferior compared to NJ/PA other than two good school districts. But the positive is less school/property taxes and tax free shopping if one doesn't have school going children. There is decent Indian community, around 6 Indian restaurants and 3 Indian grocery stores.
