If all members of a family have dual citizenship and R2i, can the children get the benefits of "OBC category" if one of the parents happens to be an OBC when he/she was Indian?

USC but still backward :-)

Desilva,

If you can afford, being an USC, and repeat - if you can afford, I suggest stop taking advantage, of the OBC, since you are a USC..and potentially can manage... the situation yourself.b

No hard feelings.. just a suggestion....

Whether it is dual core or multi core multi threaded citizenship, the procedure to get the college seat is same.

1)You need to get a OBC certificate
2)To get a OBC certificate, you need to show birth certificate or voters ID card or family Ration card
3)You need to throw your US passport in Hussainsagar or Bay of bengal. Other wise, some one may find this and book a case against you.
4)You need to get faked study/pass certificates, which shows that you studied in india.
5)Aply and attend the entrance exam.
5)Now you are eligible for OBC reservation.

See! How simple it is....

Even if there is no income or savings? If USC can remain Hindu then why he cannot keep his caste? If he can keep his caste then obviously he/she should be able to get the benefits that come with belonging to lower castes (and higher income :-)

IMO all this caste based reservations are going to die a silent death in coming decade as the country moves to capitalism.

And... we will not have any politicians, and no elections..... Yeah right! I would be happy if they keep reservations out of the private sector.

its appalling that people take advantage of the system even when they are relatively comfortable than other OBC. There is a thin line that seperates people from using the system to abusing it and there is no :-) in it.

They can keep their caste. But the issue is "who is going to give them a caste certificate?". Indian Govt officer can only issue a certificate for indians, who have proof (birth cert/voters ID/Ration card etc) that they are indians.

Thanks for the responses.

R2i destination for us can be state A(inlaws) or state B. In state A, we are OBCs. In state B where I was educated we are not and belong to the Open category.

If having USC disqualifies us anyway, then atleast from reservation point of view for us there is no advantage in moving to either A or B.
