any pointer where I can get a PAL-BG to NTSC tv signal converter

Post by SethuMK »

Guys I just wanted to let everyone know who is looking for a PAL to NTSC converter in India that Raju and Raju Electronics in Mumbai gave me the best service. I just moved to Mumbai so did not expect such service in India. Mr Kazani sent a person over the very next day to install the PAL to NTSC converter and they also deal with DTH connections so let him know if you need one.

They also ship all over India so give them a call. I know I sound like an Ad but for the last two months after R2I I was stuck with my new Samsung LED because I did not buy one of those Altona converters back in the US. But the converter provided by Raju and Raju provides 1080p upconversion too.

Good luck.

I am got 46 inch Sony LED TV from US with Altona HD converter with up conversion. I have Tata Sky HD.
Only HD programs look great on this TV. SD programs look okay.

However with same feed, the Sony 26 inch TV i bought in HYD, picture quality looks great if not awesome. Atleast 50% better.
So i am loosing some picture quality due to this conversion business.
If you can afford it, then buy DVDO Edge processor. More details about that in links given by ILH.
I regret for not spending 200-300$ more to ge that one. I think i paid 300$ fo Altona. DVDO costs $500-$600.

For TV below 40 inch it is not worth to buy in US and bring it here unless you already own it.
my local Sony TV has warranty for 1 year which i wont have for US bought TV and hassles of shipping, converter, 110/220 volts etc.

I am not sure where you can get converter in HYD. you may ask the folks in Bajaj Electronics or Reliance Digital or TMC or one of these TV showrooms

We just R2I'd to Hyderabad. I wanted to post on the PAL/ NTSC converter on this forum as I did a lot of research before coming and did not get any definitive information.

We brought back a Sony Bravia 46 LCD from the US. I DO need a power converter as the TV is rated only for 110V. But I DO NOT need a PAL/NTSC converter. We took the Tata Sky + HD-DVR package and all I need to do is connect my box to my TV with an HDMI cable. That's it!

So, I now have an Atlona AT-HD560 Pal HDMI to NTSC HDMI Converter that I can spare. Anyone needs it, PM me.

Interested in buying the PAL/NTSC converter. Sent you email with my contact details. Could not send you PM. I had one but rencelty one of my relative accidentally plugged 12V plug in converter which takes only 5V and it fried the converter. I have Sony LED TV which does not support PAL but LCD does.
