Gurgaon School feedback

Just wanted to revive this thread and surprised why there is so little activity on this. We are moving in July after a lot of years of go or not with son finishing year 6 in UK and daughter yr 3. We were prepared to consider private secondary school for my son so we put aside costs for the moment and looked at where he would be able to adjust easily. Feedback I have is that Shree ram is good but nearest to International is Pathways though quite expensive. For the moment we are thinking for going for it and see if we need to change in coming years.
Any views will be great to have a discussion...

Sriram is a good school (ICSE), admission is almost impossible even at the beginning of session unless u can get thru back door. Anyway, i don't recommend this school for just returned kids ..crowded classrooms/traditional system/non-ac building etc..i think it is difficult school for transition. Scottish is a good mixture - cost ~ 1L/yr (ICSE) , pathways is true international school and almost guranteed for kids to settle down well - cost ~3L/yr. Chances of getting admission in pathway is better ..their session starts in Aug (I think)..scottish starts in April but they normally have couple openings and take admission later also on clearing written/interview..you can request to exempt hindi for testing if that's an issue.

Bosncr,

Don't have first hand exp of Pathways but it's rated highly and takes pains to ensure a good balance between education and overall development (ie sports, arts, extracircular activites, cultural integration).

There is a good choice of some great schools in Gurgaon - Shriram, Suncity World School, Pathways, Heritage and for the little ones - Shikshantar, Pallavan, Suncity.

Take the time to visit the schools that you are shortlisting.

Best, IndChamp

IndChamp, thanks! After thinking more on this, we are feeling what if being an expensive international school corners us in our community because no one in our circle in India is attending these schools ....don't know if this would make it difficult for our daughter as well as us to mingle with nears and ears ones......"confused"
Have heard good things about Shriram......any ideas about their admission process? We are taking a trip to India in August to sort all these answers and update our house..:-))

Would really appreciate if someone can give feedback about Suncity world school in gurgaon.
Also, about Heritage...many friends living in gurgaon took their kids out of heritage after the 5th grade with very negative experiences. Though they give rave reviews for their primary section. Anyone on the forum who can shed more light on this?

Bosncr,

Our kids are in Suncity and we really like the school. Teachers are committed, the school is a decent size but not too large so kids still get individual attention.

You could try Banyan Tree World School in Gurgaon- An ICSE school where children get individual attention and has some innovative programmes for kids - My daugter goes there and she really enjoys school.

Hi,

My name is Vidya and we are moving to Gurgaon from New Jersey in June of this year. Someone mentioned about Suncity and I am trying to get more information on the school. My kids are 7 1/2 and 5 and they will going into 2nd std and Kg resp. Do you know if Suncity will do mid-session admissions? When does the school year start and what are the school timings? We are looking at accomodations in Vattika and Nirvana (The Close). Would you have idea how far the school is from these locations and if there is a bus from there to the school?

Sorry thats a lot of questions in a short mail. Any help would be great!

thanks once again,
regs,
Vidya
