New members,

Please share your first feeling about this forum here !

I know you need some time to explore all the features and options available in this forum.

To me, this is my first vB forum for posting. I have read several vB forums. So, I took some time to learn all the features. Let me share some of my lessons learnt here.

There are two subjects you have to learn.
1) using VB and its features
2) forum design and structure

Start with top line, read FAQ, Try User CP, check out options one by one. Find a good avatar to express you. File size may not exceed 20K. Also fill up your profile carefully.

Also check new posts link on the top bar. You can find all new posts from your last visit in one page.

Some of the fields are searchable to help you to identify new friends in the same city. Some are confidential - like your r2i plans. No one will be able to read it, used only for statistics.

Your birthdate is used to greet you happy birthday on the home page ! No other use, if you prefer, enter only MM/DD and skip year. You will still get your birthday wishes, you can also see who shares your birthday from this group.

Every post has an icon for quick reply. Use that when you want to write 1-2 lines.

You will find a "lock" icon on some of the forums, we are not ready yet to open those forums. We have some postings there which were posted as part of beta testing. You may start posting there, once the locks are removed.

Check the bottom line that shows who is online.

If you wish to edit one of your post within 5 minutes of the posting, it is possible to edit the post again.

Explore the forums one by one and see how we have designed this. Your suggestions for improvements are always welcome, use site admin forums for sharing your suggestions.

There are hours and hours of work gone into getting this site - from selecting the forum software, to designing the structure and implementation. R2I Club admin team has done an excellent job. You all will see that.

Compare to MSN groups, you will find that you have lot of powerful tools here. Believe me, admin gets even more powerful tools.

Talking about admin, the same admin team has moved here; we are likely to make some changes to the team and get new moderators to moderate forums. We will discuss all that in next few weeks.

I hope all of you will enjoy this new group and never feel like going back to MSN.

Let us know what you feel and think about this website.

Have a pleasent stay !

Looks good!
Thanks to everybody who made this happen. Good to be on VBulletin where you can have sticky threads and you can subscribe to the threads you are interested in.

Few Comments:
1. Too many Forums and Sub Forums make it look very cluttered and daunting. For e:g - Dilemna, How much is Enough, Packaging Shipping etc could be a sticky thread all in one Forum rather than on the main page.

2. No need for so may immigration sub forums esp when there are other forums like immigrationportal and murthy.com. Lets maintain our core focus.

Cheers,

Is there a way to delete a post? Or I have to blank it out? This would be more tedious for admins.

Congrats to RRK, Desi and other Admin for making this transition. Yes this is definitely better than the other one. Off-late, MSN goes down for days without notice. It appears Microsoft is going down-hill.

Anyway, great job.

It does require some getting used to do. For instance, the latest posts of the thread are on the top, I was expecting them to be at the bottom as MSN.

VS007,

Responding to your query. A user has 30 minutes to edit his / her post or to delete it. You may try a test post and try to delete it say 10 minutes later.
