If i were Prime Minister of India

Post by okemos »

If i were prime minister of India, first thing that i would do is to ban all the political parties and give voluntary retirement to every politician in the country.

What's the one thing you would do if you were Prime Minister?

Will you formulate a new constitution? What policy change will you make??

Let's see how we can replace the corrupt system. Your thoughts and ideas please

So you can screw the country all by yourself? Worst democracy is better than the best dictatorship.

We might blame political parties and corruption but the fact is, the very existence of these myriad political parties has given us an opportunity to bring about the change.

If I were a PM:
1. Make primary and secondary education compulsory and free
2. Spend money on infrastructure
3. Sell off all govt ventures and factories
4. Reduce defense bill 10% each year

While I might try finding ways to reduce corruption, its not PMs duty. Its a shared responsibility of the society. If people want to elect candidates who give them free TV, no PM can help.

Even before that, to become a Prime Minister of India, I would contest on a Lok Sabha seat and be elected by the people as MP. You can't expect much from PM's who opt for a back door entry through Rajya Sabha.

I would make education till class XII free and compulsory for girls. While others figure out how to make that happen, I would go and have haleem by myself in Hyderabad House.

Good move. You won't even have to bargain with the auto guy.

Even the thought of being PM is making me nervous. I mean, how does one endlessly check lables in liquor store before deciding on the cheap whiskey, if you are a PM? Leering at women and smoking cigarettes when nobody (who counts) is looking also becomes a bit tricky. Do your internet activities get tracked by foes or friends? Becoming PM doesn't seem much rewarding...unless, of course, if you are an Italian.

I have a dream...oh, that was already stolen by Rabtag. :)

If I were the current PM, I would request Anna Hazare if I could join him in the fast. :)

Make it mandatory for all parties to project their PM candidate in advance (before the election). The top 5 parties' PM candidates must conduct US presidential style open debate, moderated by distinguished journalists (not paid ones), with questions taken in a transparent way from Indians across the world. A minimum of 5 debates spread across the country.

Enough of shaky speech readers.. India needs LEADERS who can convince the citizen/residents what they can do for their country in a clear & confident manner.

We should make participation in debates in forum mandatory for PM candidates.

Wonder how many will withdraw from the race? :)

I used to see them discuss this on CNN. Not necessarily only related to a campaign promise.
