OCI on Canada Passport, Traveling on US Passport to India

Hello,

Newbie to this forum. I have a Canadian citizenship and OCI was issued to my Canadian Passport few years ago. Since then I became US citizen and I have an US passport. My question is can I carry Canadian PP which has OCI stamp with OCI book and my US passport for travel? Note, I will be travelling from US and returning back to US.
Or do I need to get an OCI stamp on my new US passport?

Interesting question.
Only an Indian bureaucrat would be able to answer that.
If your Canadian passport is valid (US/Canada dual citizen) then you should be able to enter and exit India using that.
In that situation it may be interesting to first try with usa passport and on refusal use the canadian one.
If I were you, I would ask someone knowledgable and official.

Getting an answer from an indian bureaucrat will be like juicing turnips. Consulates are notorious for ignoring phonecalls or emails. As you said, validity of Canada passport is critical.
A reasonable immigration inspection process ought to permit entry to a person with an OCI booklet, a valid OCI visa (even in an expired passport of the same person) and a valid passport of the same person issued by some country that allows dual nationality. However, India Immigration is wild for throwing up quite unexpected reactions when presented with variations that are quite feasible but rarely seen.
And besides, when one departs from the USA, the airline check-in person would want to see a visa in the passport being used, not in the passport of another country.
Using the Canada passport when leaving USA and entering/leaving India, and then using the USA passport on return would make bureaucrats quite happy. It would be just fine to show the Canadian passport, if the US Immigration wants to see entry stamps for the foreign trip.

Would anyone share experience travelling with CAnadian PP and U sticker on it,OCA and now new USA PP...apreciate any member sharing the experience going thru immigration in USA and India?

I am in the same Situation, Expired canadian PP with U sticker and OCI card and now I have USA pasport..Can individual from Ohio or anyone else please tell me how was thei experience with arival and departure from India???

What prevents you from renewing your Canadian passport and then travelling on it to India?
You can always enter US with your US passport on return.

ftajay;456605This is interesting . My son had to come back from London as he was remove from the plane by Jet Airways staff indicating his OCI is note valid. Dont know when Jet Airways has become immigration experts.
My son had OCI U on Australian Passport (expired) and Travelling on Canadian Passport. He was allowed to travel from Calgary and at London he was removed twice from the plane. Jet airways inidcated they cannot take the liablity if he deported back. He had a return ticket , dont know what Jet Airways had the liablity.

All airlines do this. They have to screen passengers to ensure that met visa rules for the country they are heading to.

I did travel with siyuation as mentioned...at times I had to explain the Paaport situation...it was ok at the end of the day.
