After 8 years of deligently paying premium for insurance for my parents in india we had to process our first claim(medical emergency & 3 days later no one from insurance company knows what they should do & not even picking up calls) read emails below & beaware the scam,scary experience & hopefully this would help few on NRI club.

Thank god at least someone responded to the email. Incidentally these secret numbers!!! Are not mentioned on card/Policy & I tried(616-623) them 4 times again!! Just now No one picks up,So that’s about reachability ie false claims & I am sure this is intentional.
Funny enough latest excuse to process claim is that Vipul guys need to see insurance policy details from all previous years & don’t keep records of customers(so much for outsourcing by United India insurance) I am sure when it comes to selling the policy you guys would send flurry of emails,sms,phone calls it’s just when you need to deliver you will be unreachable!!!
Three days & 66 calls,15+ faxes,7 emails & 10+ trips to hospital(only for processing claim on policy that has been paid before time for last 8+ years).
My simple question is if you(Vipulmedcorp) guys are not competent/careful enough about customer & ONLY thing you want to do is harass customer why don’t you close the nexus & why would United India insurance business would not hurt simply because they have selected incompetent TPA. Let me know more excuses to not the process claim & be aware that I’ll be reporting this to lot many customers & internet forums,IRDA,Consumer courts be ready for significant loss of business because you simply cann’t handle it or maybe you don’t care.

Today I had to call your Faridabad office for processing a claim & after 70 calls(for more than 3 hours) in midst of medical emergency no body picked up the call at 01292280245 then I called 0129229981 as well & no call picked up. Tried delhi number 01146074578 again no body picked up. Finally I could talk at 01244699623 & oh god somebody picked up the call at a ‘Medical emergency’ number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!, had it been a real life threatening situation patient would have died by then I presume & I thought consumers pay premium so their health needs are taken care. Is it your company policy to not pickup phone or respond to claim processing even after 6 hours after hospital(Asian Faridabad) has send the clai! m & not respond to policyholder. If this is how you handle the claims , I am going to report this to IRDA & Consumer Courts be ready for that! Inaction is no excuse & bad press/court case & this email going to lots of IT companies(not less than 1 lakh people will see it & sure that makes lot of impact on your business) will be the only thing you would see very quickly. Please respond to this mail & let me know what actions are being taken against Faridabad office for unnecessarily delaying claim & not even responding to phone calls. Unfortunate that I did insurance thru your company & I am 100% committed to make lot of noise if this is not addressed. So humble request to look into this & not ignore this email,let me know what actions are taken to address this.

Well getting a health insurance policy for senior citizens is a bit tougher. you should be prepared for spending high premiums.

The main difference between the two countries Health Insurance plan is that in India the Insurance plan are not so much diversified as they are in USA.(not covering as many benefits).National insurance offers VARISTHA Mediclaim for Senior Citizens. The sum assured is 1 lac and in case Critical Illness the cover is 2 lacs. The premium is Rs. 6187/-. Star health red carpet is also aimed at covering senior citizen and the premium for 2 lacs sum assured is 9000/- .One more product offering cover to senior citizen is Silver Health from Bajaj Allianz and the premium for 2 lacs sum assured is Rs. 11203/-
