Why is Midwest the most hated place? I thought there is a huge desi crowd in Chicago?

I can answer this one. I moved to IA from CA and I hated it. I made trips to chicago and even in July the beautiful lake shore drive, it was very windy. I give a perfect 0 to chicago. There could be other reasons to like chicago but 9 months in a year will be restricted to office, home and car and anything indoor.. If you are okay with that, one can think for the rest.

I lived in Ia for 4 years and visited seattle for a week in May and I should say something about this city seattle. If you are moving out of midwest because of weather, then cross out seattle. You will not like it. It is still cold just not as cold as midewest. Texas or CA are the best. I don't know about Atlanta. based on its location that might be warm too
smariner;179495Seattle area (esp the eastside) meets a lot of your criteria -- winters are not as warm as say CA, but much more tolerable than midwest, IMO.

I am looking for school district information and private school fees and RE prices for Orange county and surrounding areas. I like this weather better than Bay Area. Please post any information that you know off. Do you know if alise veijo has any indian community. how is the school district. ANy place which has reasonable RE prices below 700k for a 2500 sw SFM with good scholl district is good for me. within 30 miles from coast. From Santa Barabara to Sandiego.
prasadee;179344You get it all in San Diego, and Irvine. I am not saying this with the I live here, so its the best attitude. Friends who visit/move from Chicago, Minnesota say that after experiencing the warmer climate. Sydney, I am told has a similar climate, but last I checked thats not US.:D
Employment is tough anywhere, but if you are into wireless, semiconductors, or medical electronics these cities may suit well. LA has similar climate, but its a huge city with traffic, and pollution issues.
Cost of living, and taxes are high anywhere in Calif. (but I did not see this as a factor in your list) some of it should be factored into the payscales to a certain extent.

Hi,
I'm planning to move to Hicksville or area around that. I would like to have some information about apartment rental, best school district, Indian community etc. Can someone give me some information about it or point me where I can get it?
Thanks very much

Many places in San Diego will meet these criteria. I suggest this. From what I heard, this price point will be tough to hit in Orange county, but I might be wrong.
Of course, finding a high paying job in San Diego can be tough outside of a few niches and employers.
And, whether a school district is "good" depends on what your expectation from "good" is.
Some more helpful info.

At least in San Diego county, private schools are not very viable option for most people. There a very few secular private schools - usually far away from popular suburban housing and they are not much better (if at all) from top public schools. You will be proably better off buying/renting in area where public schools are reputed.
[2] I know a few Indians in Aliso Veijo but no idea how big the Indian scene is. However from what I observe most good areas orange county (with good schools) have fairly decent concentration of Indians - probably on par with San Diego or better.
