Big money owns both democrats and republicans, how else the democrats can pass the bailout law for wallstreet richest in ONE DAY without republicans, but could not pass laws in a day for Iraq or the healthcare.[/quote]
Welcome back with additional charges and questions, before we proceed, can you respond to this regarding your queries about Ted Kennedy?

Top Ten Immediate changes because of this reform:

  • Prohibit pre-existing condition exclusions for children in all new plans;
  • Provide immediate access to insurance for uninsured Americans who are uninsured because of a pre-existing condition through a temporary high-risk pool;
  • Prohibit dropping people from coverage when they get sick in all individual plans;
  • Lower seniors' prescription drug prices by beginning to close the donut hole;
  • Offer tax credits to small businesses to purchase coverage;
  • Eliminate lifetime limits and restrictive annual limits on benefits in all plans;
  • Require plans to cover an enrollee's dependent children until age 26;
  • Require new plans to cover preventive services and immunizations without cost-sharing;
  • Ensure consumers have access to an effective internal and external appeals process to appeal new insurance plan decisions;
  • Require premium rebates to enrollees from insurers with high administrative expenditures and require public disclosure of the percent of premiums applied to overhead costs.

What does this health care mean for you:
If you are employed and have insurance,you can keep your insurance. It will help employees in smaller firms with no insurance.

Great job by the democrats to push this thru.

There is another aspect USC/Green card holder R2I'er to consider if they R2I to India. If you file taxes as an NRA, you can skip the penalties for mandatory coverage. The IRS will be used to determine your eligibility for paying these penalties. Also going back and forth between India/US as needed will be easier as the biggest worry of health insurance for family and kids is taken care of.

Dependent age limit increase to 26 is going to help a lot of families with kids who are past 21 but are yet to find a decent job. I know several folks at work who were looking at buying insurance for kids as the kids had turned 21 and thereby ineligible for coverage thru their dependents.

The Democrats led by Obama have shown that they understand the problems facing middle-class America.

I can proudly say that the first vote I cast for the President of the US will work for me in getting coverage under the small business umbrella.

I think the passage of the Health Care reform bill is a good thing. I also think this may be good news for people who may have thought of bringing parents on GC to live with them in US, but did not do so because of the prohibitive cost of medical insurance. With the passage of this bill, parents should be able to buy affordable health insurance.

Any thoughts on this ?

This will be a very important benefit and possibly a big deciding factor for folks who would like to R2i , just to take care of their aging parents .I guess its too early to know anything ..I read something about the 5 year waiting period for benefits to kick in for Non Citizens .. Is that valid even for buying insurance ?

This reform may also help with parents visiting US, as they can purchase health insurance here without being precluded by pre-existing conditions.

I dont see that, can you post some links?
If it is true, then this can prove to be very costly. I doubt if the insurance cos would have allowed that.
