I only wish more such students speak up to call Rahul's bluff :)) It was nice to see him gulp his words, come up with an excuse 'galti se Gujarat bol diya', after Bihari students in Darbhanga made him apologize on the stage.. Obviously he spoke against Gujarat (like mother.. like son, what's surprising?), but wanted to duck Maharashtra discussion

Good job Bihari students! :thup:

Need any more solid proof that India is witnessing the greatest puppet show on earth? :p When you are running a shadow government, you don't need to participate in debates or ask questions about your constituency in parliament sessions.
Parliament records using http://www.prsindia.org indicate:
Name -- State -- Constituency -- Party -- Attendance-- Debates -- Questions Asked
Feroze Varun Gandhi -- Uttar Pradesh -- Pilibhit -- BJP -- 67% -- 0 -- 194
Rahul Gandhi -- Uttar Pradesh -- Amethi -- INC -- 73% -- 0 -- 0
Maneka Gandhi -- Uttar Pradesh -- Aonla -- BJP -- 67% -- 4 -- 113
Sonia Gandhi -- Uttar Pradesh -- Rae Bareli -- INC -- 64% -- 0 -- 0
Jai ho Mata Rome and Yuvraj! You have shown us, regular folks in India, that in nearly ONE year since Parliament started, you can slack every 'working' day & still be praised 'Jai Ho' by sycophant media :thup:
Did I hear somewhere else that Manmohan is not a puppet? :wink Tsch.. tsch.. sorry to burst the bubble Congress fans..

I didn't contend the action part. Think hard.. you are actually agreeing with me that in fact they don't need to ask questions.. 'cause the puppet will do everything they say. :wink
Regarding noise pollution, asking questions in parliament is an integral part of Parliament democracy. If everyone slacks around like Rahul or Sonia, Lok Sabha wouldn't need a Question Hour or rest of proceedings.

Thanks for the above link. I have been hunting for the Women's Reservation Bill text. It is a site that I did not know earlier.

They are in opposition and that is what they have to do, question each move of the government. Let them be part of the ruling government and see how many questions they ask. Lets not compare now let the other 2 be also in the same postion as the former 2 and then see.

KirKS, I did a search (http://164.100.47.132/LssNew/psearch/qsearch15.aspx) on the questions asked by Varun and he seems to be a smart person asking smart (non-political, that is) questions. Here is one:
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE LOK SABHA UNSTARRED
QUESTION NO 1390 ANSWERED ON 05.03.2010 STANDARDS OF PACKAGED FOOD AND BEVERAGE ITEMS 1390 .
Shri NEERAJ SHEKHAR
ANAND PRAKASH PARANJPE
FEROZE VARUN GANDHI
RUDRAMADHAB RAY
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:-
(a) the reasons for not yet notifying the Rules and Regulations of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the time by which these are likely to be notified;
(b) whether processed and packaged food and beverage items like energy drinks,probiotic products etc. are being sold in the country without being governed by any food standards;
(c) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;
(d) whether the Government proposes to bring in higher safety and quality control for these food and beverage items and to introduce quality stamp for probiotic and organic products; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE(SHRI DINESH TRIVEDI)
(a) The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) established in September,2008 has circulated draft rules and regulations in December, 2009 to all stakeholders including industry and State Governments for consultation before final notification following the laid down procedures.
(b) & (c) Food items like energy drinks and probiotic dairy products fall in the category of proprietary food (non-standardized) defined in Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955 and have to comply with the requirements laid down in the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 and Rules, 1955.
(d) & (e) Setting standards for new food items, like probiotics and organic products, and review of existing standards under Adulteration Rules 1955 is a continuous and ongoing process.
I browsed few of his other questions on the use of scientific mapping of the availability of sites for putting up steel plants. Another was "whether the Government also proposes to use satellite phones and global positioning system (GPS) to ensure that safety standards for tourists in India are at par with the international Standards", one of the subjects of interest to me (safety), beyond just tourism.
Seriously, this dude should stop putting tilak on his forehead and uttering of political nonsense, instead, portray who he really is, a modern youth who cares about India's future. :)

Did I make any claims on introducing bills? Read the context of why I am calling Rahul & Sonia as slackers while terming Manmohan as puppet with irrefutable proof :)) Why change topic?

Madam ji -
Only if you looked up a bit about Congress party's colleagues from the same Uttar 'Pardes' that Sonia and Rahul are from. Let me give you a few other Congressis from UP, who are attending debates, asking questions, even while they are a part of ruling party.
Name -- State -- Constituency -- Party -- Attendance-- Debates -- Questions Asked
Harsh Vardhan -- Uttar Pradesh -- Maharajganj -- INC -- 83% -- 11 -- 34
Sanjay Sinh -- Uttar Pradesh -- Sultanpur -- INC -- 77% -- 1 -- 43
Ratna Singh -- Uttar Pradesh -- Pratapgarh -- INC -- 87% -- 6 -- 50
P.L. Punia -- Uttar Pradesh -- Barabanki (SC) -- INC -- 99% -- 17 -- 68
Vinay Kumar Pandey -- Uttar Pradesh -- Shrawasti -- INC -- 90% -- 15 -- 92
Jagdambika Pal -- Uttar Pradesh -- Domariyaganj -- INC -- 96% -- 53 -- 85
So sorry madam ji.. You need to sleep tonight convincing yourself that Rahul is a big time slacker just like his mom and Mannu bhai's motor runs through remote control. Did I say 'invisible' hand for Cong supporters? :103:

VaruN is the best example of how 'secular' media can paint someone as a villain. I can tell a lot more about him, but not in this thread. I agree that he is a very hard working & smart guy.. a rarity in the 'fake' Gandhi family :)
