R2i Mechanical/ Industrial Engineers & their Job search--Pls discuss here

Post by mitulzaveri »

Guys,
It has been a while since the last post on this thread, but I was wondering if there is anyone in the building material industry. I work for a french based MNC and have 7 years of experience (5 as a lead new product development). Could you comment on salary for a product manager or a product development manager for an MNC in India. A ball park range will be a good starting point and to make it easy, lets assume that the job is in Bangalore

Thanks
MZ

Great to see Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Lean & Civil Engg related professionals in R2I forums, quiet a change from 99% IT related. I am pursuing an opportunity to setup a manufacturing company for my parent company from Germany. Has anyone here experienced setting up a manufacturing base for an MNC in India? Cheers.

Depends on what size of a setup we are talking about here. I have worked with an auto parts manufacturer with a relatively small shopfloor and associated infrastructure. Getting all the clearances, connections etc. will be the hard part. Getting the human resource will be the easy part.

Thanks gujju, would you happen to know any consultants who can walk us through/ help in setting up a manufacturing unit? The planned company is small-medium size.

nice to see a thread for fellow non-IT engineers. bit surprised to see seasoned engineers taking 4-6months to land a decent offer. I have all my prof experiencei n Australia in food manufacturing and water/wastewater sector.
Its surprising that despite the gorwth in manufacturing and a lack of experienced professionals (perhaps my flawed perception) the cos are not conducting IT style recruiting processes. I guess the industry will come to it if and when the shortage begins to bite.
