Sumu, Congrats and very happy to read your posts after few weeks. From the beginning your diary has been a big motivation for me and a confidence booster to r2i to CBE. (Chennai is still on the cards)
After reading your diary about IPS, got the tuition fee structure and application forms from IPS through email. Is your son going one grade up than what he would have been in US? like 4th grade here would be 5th std in India? Were there interviews/exams before you can enroll in IPS?

Please continue to write...it's definetly a refreshing breeze from all the other negative stuff I read..but write as you see it

We paid Rs, 50,000 as one time registration and Rs, 25000 as security deposit which is refundable and the term fees was Rs, 15,000. We got the application in October of last year and paid the registration in Oct also. Now, they have increased the term fees and the registration fees. You may try and talk to them and see if they will provide you last year's fees structure.
We will know how good the school is after about a few months..So far,we have had good reviews from a couple of R2I members who have their kids in IPS. I am thinking about joining their staff probably in administration...I haven't talked to them yet..!! let's see !!
I plan to write my diary with no sugar coating. I just want to write about things the way they are !!
Currently CBE is quite hot and both myself and my husband have been feeling under the weather due to heat and exertion. We have been pushing ourselves too much, trying to do a million things and running around everywhere and it has caught up with us !!

Went to 'Sharadambal temple' in racecourse and had icecream in 'Boomerang', went back to my parent's had dinner and went to a second show movie 'Tamil Padam' in Karpagam complex with my mom,aunt, my school friend, niece, nephew etc. The movie was a waste !! Came back from the movie slept for 3 hrs, got up walked from mom's to my MIL's apt since my DH and son didn't come for the movie and started writing this post..

You did all these right after landing in CBE? Wow!! You are really energetic :)
Maybe anyone who starts their post R2I life with a visit to Sharada temple might be that energetic anyway!

1. Thank you for mentioning about NASA. That is one of our TODO list before we R2I next year. Do we need to know someone in NASA to visit? Or can we just visit ?

2. What are all the important stuff you took from here to India? Can u give a list when u get a chance.

NASA employees get tickets for the launch by lottery to watch from about 3 miles from the launch control center. But, you can watch it from outside also and it is pretty good from outside too !! You don't have know anybody in NASA for that !!
Well, we took everything that is important to me and everything that is important for our son and for my husband :-))
Basically, we shipped a lot (40 ft container full). We just had too much stuff even after selling, donating, dumping etc.
A big screen TV is good to take. Also, I have just been browsing at the furniture shops here and I didn't like anything that I saw. @home furniture showroom in R.S Puram has some decent stuff..Then again, I have to say I am kind of picky and like only contemprory stuff and traditional is a BIG NO for me.

That is exactly what we were thinking about today..We are planning on a trip to ooty sometime next week.
