Hi VWBuggy,

I read a lot of your posts and am in a similar position. Can you give me more details about why you dropped the idea of central AC? is it the insulation capablities of the brick walls and windows that threw you off or was it anything else?

How much of cost savings will be there between a 5*and 3* AC?- Considering I am going to use it for approximately 12 hours during the weekdays and 16 to 18 hours during the weekends.

Hi all

At last finalised Samsung for 1.5 and 1 ltr

Reasons

1. Stabilizer free (in build and can take from 135 - 240 )
2. Tried in my parents house , great ... Very satisfied . AC's in both bedrooms in my parents house couldn't do voltage boost as the voltage is very low, but Samasung work effortlessly allaround

Fridge
Finalised LG Side by side 580 Lts (with water & iCE Disp) and also Bar access:wink

Will let you know how the things went

I've gone with LG 5*. I was told that there is very little to choose between LG & Samsung. They are both similar to each other.

I just R2I'd and am also in market for AC and Fridge.

When I spoke to one of my friend on recommendation on AC he said just go with either OG or Daikin. I see many of you have recommend Daikin, but no mention about OG. Any feedback from users or who have learnt about it would be good.

Also there was one more sugestion that if you are going to live in a rented property for a year or less then go with Window AC, as it will be easier to take it with you when you move. Split AC cannot be transported without the technician, as the gas in it has to refilled. Is this true?

Regarding fridge I am zeroing in on Whirlpool Protton F450L Elite. Seems this is one of the latest one.

Anyfeedback from our members on this fridge? and also any recommendation with respect to from where to buy. Seems Vasanth and Viveks is popular choice and Ratna offering very competitive price.

Ravi - Regarding AC our architect recommended Daikin or OG or Hitachi but we decided to go with Samsung since their service was good and I already had 2 Samsung's for rented apartment. For my new home, we went with latest Samsung with built in stabiliser. Yes Window A/c is easier to carry but most of new apartments will not have provision for Window A/c's and lookwise Split A/c's are sleek. We too had to call a Service company to transport our Split A/c's refill with gas and then move to our home.

Fridge - we went with 3 door Whirlpool Proton F330L elite model. We went with Vintage wine color. That color was only available in Shah's and Saravana Stores. Since Shahs was closest to our home, we ordered from there. Pretty much their price was same. We paid a little extra for Vintage wine color. We just got it last week. Looks great and controlling the panel for cooling looks sleek mas well. But I did not have it long enough to review it!!!

Ravi , yep thats the one. My hubby liked this so much. I loved the 3 door Hitachi model but that was costing 40K. This model was 26K or so for other colors whereas vintage wine and another color is 1000rs extra. We paid 27,300 all inclusive.
