I-bonds after R2I

Can we hold on to the electronic I-bonds purchased more than 7 years ago even after we R2I or is it advisable to cash it before we leave?

Thank you.

If you have any paper I bonds, Convert them to electronic form in Treasury Direct.
You dont need to sell any of them, if you dont need them. You can manage them online even from India.
Make sure your bank accounts connected to TD are alive..

good luck !

Even I was thinking of keeping my Treasury Direct account open when i return to India but when I contacted them, they said they need a US address on file.

How did you manage that? What address did you give them?
