Seriously, with the amount of money he has, good or bad times has no bearing on how he enjoys. Judging the way he ran kingfisher airlines in the ground; operated RCB, I question his vision. In fact he is cited as a prime example of how to become a millionaire from a billionaire.
Please cite examples of his pride in Indianness (most likely F1).

Yes, some credit is due, but there is still a question mark on whether it is his personal collectible or was donated to a museum. Going by the timeframe of the auction, it would have given ample publicity for his IPL team. In summary, this act would not have made an iota of difference to most Indians.

I seriously lost respect for him after seeing how he is managing the staff at Kingfisher airlines. He has absolutely refused to meet them all these months even though they remianed unpaid for so long. THey come to meet him at F1 circuit because that is the only time the man is in the country and he asks them -why didnt you come home to meet me?
An employee's spouse(engineer's wife) commits suicide due to the financial constraints in the family due to the lack of payments and still he is not moved.
Sorry- though Kingfisher was one of the best airlines Ive flown-national or international- I really am in total contempt of the guy now.

Kingfisher airlines is bankrupt. They are not going to get paid. Unless some bankruptcy court (is there such a thing in India) orders salary payments from selling of planes (If they do not have a first lien on them), they won't get paid. They should consider their job over.
While Mallya should have met them, but if CEO has issued statements to employees, that should be good enough. It is upto employees if they want to listen to CEO pleadings to return to work. But I am not sure what more Mallya can tell them other than they have huge debt and are trying to find a buyer. Unless some buyer picks the company up and operates it, it is over.

He is not oblidged to do things which will make a difference to Indians. He is running a business.
