Hyderabad or Vizag - Please help me decide

I need your inputs on this.

Myself and My husband are both from hyderabad, We always wanted to go back to hyderabad after we R2I, We plan to go in March 2011.

My husband has a good offer in Vizag and due to Telangana and Andhra split, now he wants to go to Vizag. We have tried to R2I earlier and went to Chennai, we did not like the place much so we R2A for 4-5 years and after that we planned to go to Hyderabad.

I'm still insisting on hyderabad. Please help us decide, How bad is the situation in hyderabad, Are there many riots going on?

Both our parents are settled in hyderabad. So I'm all confused.

If was you with a similar situation then i would go for Hyd. I been here at Hyd for last 3months, nothing is bad here. Seperation does not bother me though i am from Andhra region. End of the day for me living (or close by) with dear ones is more important. Hope that helps.

My parents and brother live in Hyderabad. They don't seem to be facing any problems related to Telangana situation. I don't think decision to go to either Vizag or Hyderabad should be based entirely on Telangana situation. You mentioned your husband received an offer in Vizag. Can he get similar or better jobs in Hyderabad? If you are both Telugu speaking, going to Vizag should be a reasonable option.

Not sure if you got an offer now to join Vizag in March 2011. That seems to be unlikely with many Vizag companies (I live in Vizag). Of the companies that are here, Kenexa, Symbiosis, Xynthe, Miracle are the only players who are even keen to hire R2Iers.

There are many other factors than just the offer. Most likely you will definitely get a better offer in Hyd than in Vizag. Cost of living is not much different between the two cities. There are very limited entertainment options in Vizag. I know of two young couples, one from Nagpur and the other from Hyd. They both had no family in Vizag and they both don't like Vizag, especially the hyd couple. So, choose wisely. It is a nice small city and a good place to raise a family but could be hard if you had no family around. There are a few R2Iers in Vizag (I know about 10 of them) but all of them came on their own choice to Vizag and all of them had ties to Vizag. I do not know of any R2Iers who chose to come to Vizag just because they have an offer.

I have many friends and family living in Hyd. and so far none of them are having any problems due to telangana issue. You have parents there and can get their input on this issue.
Coming to job front, there is no comparision between Vizag and Hyderabad. In case , if you are not happy with your current job in Hyd., there will be so many other opportunities and which is not the case with Vizag.

We'll have to go earlier to MArch 2011 to get the offer. March 2011 was out intial plan.

You will love hyderabad better than Chennai.
Vizag is beautiful place has coastal region, just 2 hours flight, why worry about it.
Hyd is nicer too. Small place, but well developed.
