I have been searching jobs in India (targeting at BLR, HYD as second option) for the last 4 months.
Finally attended one and only one interview 2 weeks back at TCS. Interviewer said he recommended to HR and they will be contacting me soon to talk details. Although he said the position is at Chennai.
Position is for Tech Lead (and some BA role) in BI.
I am not interested in Chennai (no offense to Chennai'tes, it is just because of the weather). My wife wants to take the offer for now, move to Chennai and then look for moving to a place of choice. In any case my wife and kids will be living 2010 school year at my parents place in Vijayawada because we do not want to move in the middle of school year.
It is really frustrating as I am not able to land any interviews.
Is it a right choice to move to Chennai and then look again or wait for some more time in US and search (Although no one can answer this what the future looks like).
I was wondering, how difficult is it to move internally (in TCS) from Chennai to BLR (or HYD).
Also, could some one share what would be the salary range for a Tech Lead at TCS? I have MS, PMP with experience of 12 years in data warehousing and BI in financial domain.
Does the Tech Lead fall into Consultant or Associative Consultant? Do I have the leverage to ask the title now?
TIA

If the job is good, then I would say go for it. In my opinion, having a satisfying job that offers good career growth is an overriding factor.

My job dilemma
Thanks KRT. From what the interviewer presented about the job, it looked promising and in financial domain. So my guess is the job is good.
Does anyone know what would be the salary range in TCS for Consultants/Assoc Consultants? How difficult would it be for transfering from Chennai to Blr/Hyd?
