Golf in Bangalore

Post by MACTALKS »

Dear R2Iers,
I am an amatuer golf player and I am planning to continue golfing after r2I next year.
Can someone help me in getting the followin information?
1. What are the good golf courses in Bangalore. I am planning to live in/around Whitefield area.
2. How long does it take to get the membership? Do I need to get some recommondation letters from someone? Unfortunately, I am a small fish and dont know any bigshots..
3. What are the membership fees, course fees and the caddy fees?
4. Do we get good golf clubs in India? Is it a good idea to ship them from US?

If you already have a set, bring it, especially if you are freighting lot of other stuff. Some airlines (Virgin) allow sports equipment over and above the normal baggage allowance.
Shipping these by themselves is not worth it. You should be able to purchase locally for less than the price in usa and shipping cost.
