Things where to buy in Hyderabad and what to buy?

Post by sunnyoc »

Hi,

We R2Ied on last tuesday still with parents in a far by town. We are planning to move to Hyderabad this month end. Still looking for an apt/house in KPHB 6th Phase area. Since we didn't do the FCL move to India, we need to purchase the following immediately in India:

1. Sofa Set (What place would you suggest for a budget of Rs 40K-50K? Wife wants decent furniture).
2. Mattresses (1King and 1 Queen)
3. Bed Frames for the above Mattresses
4. Dining Table with 6 Chairs

In the Electronics these are immediate need:

1. Fridge
2. Washing Machine
3. Dish Washer (if needed)
4. A/C Machines at least 2
5. Inverter for covering a 1800 sq.ft apt/home (not everything but major stuff like 3-4 tube lights, 2 fans, TV and little other stuff).

Please let me know and if anyone wants to give me a personal message, I would appreciate that also.

thanks

I've sent you a PM. Call me and I can explain everything in detail.
Don't worry too much.....everything is available in HYD!!

Buying things in India is a breeze and is actually a pleasure! You can get all the furniture at places like Home Town (Punjagutta Circle). Places like Big Bazaar have a limited selection, but they carry furniture as well. You can try Bajaj Electronics in Punjagutta for a lot of the electronic items. We bought all the major items in less than a week even after shopping around in quite a few places.

For Electronics you can also try TMC in Begumpet.

We found Croma to be the best place for electronics and home appliances. Its like Best buy here where you can buy pretty much everything. They have stores in Panjagutta, Jubilee Hills and some other places.

Croma is little expensive compare to other local retailers like TMC. I did a comparison between for the same item in Croma and TMC. You can save couple of thousand rupees for big ticket items like TV, Fridge and Washing Machine.

However if you do not have time to look around then Croma is better.

Just my two cents.
