Do you believe in "evil eye or kan drishti"?

Post by SaiRamR2I »

Hello!

Some of you who read my R2i dilemma thread about accident can relate why I am writing this. So I have been raised in Hindu orthodox family and I have always been made to believe in "evil eye gaze". But sometimes when I think about it I question myself how can that affect us.

1. Even if say, a person A thinks "wow person B got a promotion not fair" something like that. So this affects person B's career and we say its the evil eye cast by so and so. But I am also told that bad happens if we think bad to others. In that case if I am jealous of someone how can that affect the other person. It should affect me right?

2. I have experienced it myself when I think my baby has put on weight or is eating well immediately the next day baby falls sick. I have experienced evil gaze more towards little kids. Why does this happen even when I think positively about my child?

3. If I think my car looks good and nice at the least there is a scratch in my car the next day.

4. So the list goes on like this but most of the time it happens when I think something but again nothing bad. So does the same thing happen if others think also?

Any logical explanations?

I read about it and found that it is the negative vibrations / energy of the person casting the evil eye. But cases like when I think "wow I look good or my baby looks chubby or I drive so well" these things are not any negative vibrations but I have always seen that these thoughts immediately have negative effects. Why is that so?

Sorry if I am not clear but I hope you got what I am trying to say..........

I would say they are all random coincidences. You just relate your kid falling sick with what you said day before. But you don't relate everything else with something. In that sense it is just a small percentage of something matching and that stands out. Kids falling sick is very common thing. You don't find a reason for every other common things. Did you ever try to correlate whatever you said with your kid started crawling/walking/loosing tooth etc.,? Mostly no. So it's all mind games. That's all it is in my opinion.

If I don't see on the Indian cross roads, red color water, with 3 dried Chillies, and a lemon, I will not feel like I am in India.

BTW, when you see one, be careful as to not to step on it. Otherwise, the dristhi will stick to you..

For me it works the other way. I bought an used with full of scratches and every time I complained it got cleaned up and now I drive a shiny new car.

Is this what happened to Mani Ratnam and resulted in Raavan/Raavanan's box office outcome.

I wonder not what will happen to Aishwarya Rai. Every magazine has praised how well she acted in Raavan's movie. Her next move WILL BE a disaster.

The lord works in mysterious ways.

Karma maybe? It is futile to question the ways of God (or look for logic), he knows best.

SaiRamR2I;308672I read about it and found that it is the negative vibrations / energy of the person casting the evil eye.
We call it vibrations but I recall research where they had a person think negative thoughts and monitored across the spectrum and were able to detect a peak in some specific band of EM waves. So, there is some truth to this.

SaiRamR2I;308672But cases like when I think "wow I look good or my baby looks chubby or I drive so well" these things are not any negative vibrations but I have always seen that these thoughts immediately have negative effects. Why is that so?
As long as we create vibrations, they can have effect. One day I had bought a lottery and told no one and I won. The other time, when i had bought it and had kept it on the table, my wife saw it and said "so, planning to win a million or what" - right then and there I knew that I was not going to win and in fact I just did not even eat the food in the house that day.

Desi;308831 in fact I just did not even eat the food in the house that day.
you eating home cooked food in your back yard reduces negative vibrations from your wife?

Anyhow I am complusive about not shaving on Tue, Thur, Sat. Touching any stupid piece of paper (sometime garbage) if my feet touch it. Ofcourse never tell my extnd family or evil friends about good things in life (now I understand the vibration thing). Wearing this red thread on my wrist since I was wearing it and was allowed to enter US, even though I was on h1b. Obviously keep sandals/shoes out of puja room. Never sleep with my feet facing God. And countless others. I think I didn't get my green card because I started eating meat. My friend who eats meats only on Wed, Sun, Fri, got it way before me.

You should apply antidotes immediately. If you go to Swami Nithyananda, he can conduct an yaga to clear the bad vibrations. What color gem do you wear in your ring? That should repel some of the bad vibrations. In any case, when you feel evil eye is cast on you, you should knock on wood 3 times, and take an aarthi with camphor 3 times around your head. After that, light that camphor. The camphor would have absorbed the evil eye when you did the aarathi. So, when you light the camphor the camphor will release the evil eye as vapor. So, make sure the vapor does not come in your direction. If you do all this, the lottery is yours.
