Forcing Indianized Teenager to R2A
See, the problem is that we can make sure to do R2I before child turns 10 and starts to say no to R2I. But what about R2A? What if Indianized teen does not want to R2A? Does not want to attend college in USA? What to do? Leave teen in India? Force the Indianized teen to R2A? One story about such a forced R2A: http://theladiesfinger.com/married-homesick/

This is nothing but misplaced romanticism and the rebellious nature of college student. Similar anecdotes can be found in India too for which R2A is not the trigger.
My cousin ended up eloping with a girl when he was in his 12th Std. He had never even stepped out to a metro city in India. So, R2A or not, this could happen anyways.

I skimmed through the article but any situation that you don't want to be in and don't like is hell. For most kids, moving back and forth between East and West can be very traumatising, just like it has been for this girl. It's a special kind of hell, not that life can't be hell if you've never left your homeland. She appears to be back in India which is good and working as a "writer". That's never a good idea. India's not very friendly towards single women with foreign passports who are writers. But, as long as it works for her, good for her.

Although the article is more about porn addiction and domestic violence, OP has a good point. By the time your child becomes 15 years, he/she has their own functioning mind. So it is worth to consider their feelings as well, when it comes to making moves.
My dad using to work in a bank and a transfer every 4-5 years. I was a bad kid in school and didn't really have friends and had a bad reputation. So for me changing schools and having a fresh start was a good thing. But for other normal people it might have been devastating.

Wow....what a guilt trip for people moving their kid back and forth...
But I guess there are only few people....special enough to ignore their kids and not know how they are feeling and only care about their mid life crisis...
