Long term car rental in Hyderabad

Post by adesai79 »

My company (based in US) is relocating me to Hyderabad on a 6 month project. I am told that car is a necessity in Hyderabad. Any ideas/options on getting a car in Hyderabad for a period of 6 months. I do not have a Indian drivers license. I believe, here are my options:
1) Rent a car with driver: Approx. cost 700 Rs. / day. I do not like this option since it is not only pricey, but also I am always dependent on driver to run errands, go to office, etc.
2) Buy a car locally and getting a driver: Less expensive option, but more hassles to go through (like purchasing car, getting a driver, etc).
3) Buy a car and drive it locally: Again not sure if I can drive on Indian roads (never driven there).

Any other ideas/options? Can I get a car on lease?

Absolutely worth it, if company is paying for it. They should easily be able to pay $15/day for driving allowance. Not to mention free time during traffic jams and peace of mind. No petrol expenses, maintainance issues or accident costs. For freedom get a two wheeler like a motorbike.

Well am kind of looking for something like this. I do have a car and i can drive you in the city. Am 24/7 free these days. Am pretty westernised and in need of money now. Hopefully we can do something with ur problem. I know buying a car has alot if gassels and driving is another thing but the only option i can see is to have a reliable person and a decent car. I do have ford figo which is a private car not a taxi plate. And am ready to give it on lease if you wanna drive by your self. Or i can come along with it. Let me know if you wanna discuss. Can call me on 8801771392.

No one will give any one a car for just rs700/day for 8 hours. You are lucky if you could get one time meal for one person at a decent restaurant for rs 700. Let alone renting a car for 8 hours at this price.

That was 2010 and many many moons ago. Yes, we used to get a 4 hour cab (40km) for 400 and an 8 hour one (80km) for 700 then. That was of course in Noida.

Now I believe the rate for 4 hour cab if 600 or there about. That would make 1000/1100 for an 8 hour cab.

Bikaneriwala in Noida Sector 18 has a lunch buffet, a lavish spread in an air-conditioned place with plush seats with servers (tie and jacket) bringing you soup and can ask them to bring anything from the buffet counters.

I have been there twice but on week-days only and the service has been excellent. The stuff is good and tasty and should rank with 5 stars.

This is for 600 per head + taxes.
