surrender of passport in india

I am trying to find out if any one had experience of surrendering passport in india..
my son is 4 yrs old, indian citizen presently in india and holds indian passport.
i am due to apply for his british passport for him in india.

i wanted to know the procedures for surrender of his indian passport in india and followed by
procedures of visa /oci application immediately thereafter.

Hey

R u obtaining the british passport for ur son by being in india.

If so once u get it, i think the best place is to go to delhi and get the indian passport cancelled.

I m sure many people have applied for OCI by being in india. you may have to go to ur local FRRO office.
