Hair transplantation in US or in India?

Post by bindaas »

My brother is thinking about hair transplantation and checking the prices here in US and also in India. In India (Hyderabad) this surgery can be done for 1/4th of the cost here. One of our friends who got it done here was saying prices didn?t come down at all in last 7 years and they won?t give any discounts. Though Indian prices look attractive he is doubtful about the quality of work as it is not regularized there. I am seeking advice from forum docs and others who have knowledge about his procedure on pros and cons of getting it done in US vs India.

Between Rs 35 to Rs 50/ hair graft in b'lore, depending on whether a dermatologist ot plastic surgeon does it and the kind of setup.

What is the size of a graft? One hair, one sqmm or what?

Couple of years back, MV had imagined that I look like a serial character. That time I had much more hair but now I think I am getting there.

Single hair grafts give the best results cosmetically as multiple will look like a rice paddy in field.

My cosmetic surgery colleague tells me that it is a very laborious and exhausting procedure both for surgeon and patient. Can last several hours if area to be grafted is large.
Ultimately more the grafts the better the results and one's pocket (affordability) often determines how many grafts one can end up with.!

Does it really work? Or these newly planted hairs fall off again?
