International Schools in Pune, Curricula (IB vs CIPP)

Post by SD3 »

Hi,

Is there anyone with a child in Daffodil Intl School in Pune? I have been talking to them for admission into Grade 1 for my little one for July 2011..and I have been given information by them about the curriculum (CIPP) etc. But I was wondering whether I could get first hand information by parents of children actually studying there to help me decide on the best school.

Also, I know that there are about 4 certified IB schools in Pune, I am not interested in any of those except Symbiosis. Is there anyone here who knows about Symbiosis? They aren't exactly good communicators and I am having a hard time trying to touch base with them from the US. Would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Hi SD3,
You mention you are not interested in any of the 4 IB schools except Symbiosis. Can you please mention why?

I sent out email to several of these schools (Sharad Pawar, Indus, Symbiosis and MBIS). Only Sharad Pawar and Indus replied back to me.

Thanks and regards

Hi Familyguy,

We returned in February and found most of these schools very bad communicators, and then we finally settled on Vibgyor High.

From our research what we found the MBIS fees are very high around rs3-6 lakhs, Sharad Pawar is relatively new and inexperienced, Symbolsis always full and now spaces can never speak to anyone in admissions. Indus still developing and more boarding then day as it is quite far away.

If can be of any assistance please pm me.

Hi Family Guy,
Many apologies for the late response. I think Gita has answered your question somewhat. My reasons are no different, but the reason for me to have picked Symbi is that I have heard good things about them from friends, and I was infact able to get in touch with them over email and telephone, so it's all good.

Hi All,

Here are some pointers for schools in Pune :-

1] Education in India is a big business. And new schools are relatively inexperienced. I have seem advt's in Times Of India for teachers for all new schools. Old schools have an established reputation's because it takes decades to build a name.

2] Kharadi/Magarpatta --> 1] Bishops [ MG road & Kalyani.] ;
2] St. Vincents ;
3] Victorius
4] St. Mary's

3] Hinjewadi --> 1] Vidya Valley;
2] Sanskruti;
3] Orchids,
4] Loyala

Symbiosis is a good school too.... There are others too.
Please note that if you want admission in July 2011, you should get the forms and fill it in Jan-2011.
Thats an observation ! The "Q" is loooooong !

Thanks,
Sagar

How easy is it from a R2I perspective to get admission in an established school such as Loyola? I can't imagine that established schools such as Loyola are R2I friendly(responsive via e-mail, phone, no admission test or admission test at different time, late start to school, etc) but I'd love to hear any positive experiences that anybody has. Thanks

Niky9, i might ave missed but which area in pune u are planning to live, and not sure how old ur kids are. i would recommend millenium school if u r in kothrud area and you kids are still below grade 3. they are quite r2i friendly, in my kids case they had created a class with most r2 kids. ofcourse my younger went to Kg there. for my elder one we selected vibgyor due to language issues. millenium is a nice school.

We r planning to stay in the Aundh-Baner area so Millenium might be a stretch for us. Thanks for the recommendation, website looks real good. My son will be ready for Gr 2 in 2013.
