Citizenship dilemma !

Post by krish9 »

Hi,

Here is my situation :

-Planning to R2I in July to bangalore, a good opportunity coming my way in my company.

- Got my GC in Aug 2007 and eligible to apply in March 2012. During these 4 years, i stayed in India for a business trip close to 4 months .. I hope this doesnt cause a problem

- Company OK to send me to USA , once in 6 months.. to maintain my GC.

Is there a risk i am taking up here ...am i jeopardizing my citizenship ???

Will appreciate your comments and help here ...

Lastly what is typical compensation ranges for a manager role in software company in bangalore ?

Regards,
Krish

Citizenship dilemma !

I am sure you know the rules.

GC holder's absence from USA for more than 6 months at a time voids all prior USA-stays (while on GC) from being counted towards her eventual citizenship-application's residency requirement.

As you said you should be OK to get your USC in spring of next year.
I am not sure why you are talking about mentaining GC beyond your eligibility for USC.
