Moving to DC, Apartment recommendations?

I will be moving to work in downtown DC and need recommendations for apartment complexes. I need a safe and convenient place close to the metro, we have no school going kids so school issues are not there. I would appreciate all of your recommendations and thanks for your time in advance. PIYA

it's better to live in VA and commute to DC for work. courthouse, Rosslyn in arlington are just a couple miles from DC and alexandria is about 6 miles or so but cheaper than arlington area.
