'Bhagvad Gita - As it is.' Trust me, it will show you the direction for your life. I make it a point of reading atleast 2 verses of the book daily....soothes my inner self.

For building career in USA or anywhere in the world, you have to read the latest things availbale in the market of your profession, enrol in some professional organisations, do some pro bono work. Go an extra mile to help the bosses....step up when needed, take latest certifications.

1. Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
2. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
3. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
4. Parenting with Love and Logic by Foster Cline and Jim Fay
5. One Up on Wall Street by Peter Lynch
6. Warren Buffett Way by Robert Hagstorm

Last 2 are specific to investing and #4 is relevent only if you are raising kids. I can't say I practice everything that is preched in these books but certainly made a lot of difference.

Well I have not got hold on the ,The Leader Who had no title, but considering the lucid and entertaining way ferrari was written, I am sure this must be equally enriching.

desi_believer;380121Hello Evryone
Can anyone please suggest me what are the life changing books to read

Also if your time permits, how the book changed your life ?
What action items you took after reading that book, which turned out to be great turning points for your life/career..

You mention "the" book, and I already see B.Gita in one of the responses. This book will certainly help you overcome notions of being lost....even when you feel like you are stuck.

desi_believer;380121Basically, I am struck with career...procrastination, doing the same kind of work what i used to 4 years back in India...
Imagine all those others who are not stuck with a job as good as yours !! Many of the motivational books recommended here will help you overcome the idea that everyday day routine is something horrible. If you are making sure that what you do matters in someway and do a good job that you can take pride in, your job will turn out to be a joy.
desi_believer;380121how you guys build your career in US ?Regards
For most people (including desis), an interesting life exists outside the job and career. The job has to provide the means to have that interesting life. Wherever you are, find a comfortable hook above the median, and hang your hat on it. Then have a happy life. Do a good job everyday, no matter what it is.

It is in many languages. Choose yours depending on your comfort level in the language. There are many in English, too. It is difficult to suggest a specific edition that suits all. The subject being what it is, without personally knowing you, one can only point to various reviews. I found the one by C. Rajagopalachari quite good, the one by M K Gandhi is good, too.

Please share your impressions as you start reading it. Wish you all the best.
