Will I get a job in India

Hi Everyone, first of all I would like to thank everyone for maintaining such a great forum. I am a software testing professional working in US for the last 10 years. I have been working with variety of industries, automated/manual testing, web based/client server/mainframe applications. I plan to start searching for a job in India in Jan-Feb 2012 time frame. So I wanted to know
1) Do I stand a good chance to get a job in this field while being in US physically?
2) What are the salary standards for this kind of experience?
3) What is the best way to start looking for a job?

I would like to thank all of you in advance. I have read some very good threads so hoping that I will also get some encouraging information out of it.

My sister just moved to India ( in Dec 2010) . she has similar background of you in Software testing ( manual/automated) & experience of 10 yrs. She relocated to Pune and got four offers in testing QA area ( she opted for non managerial role due to committments towards home), salary range she got is 10 to 14 lac per annum. Another good offer she got (18 lac+) due to her telecom domain knowledge ( majority of her experience is in telecom domain). however she could not join as it will be very far from where she resides.. so I believe you will have chance, however I suggest you need to keep salary expecations in check with the people there...

Sorry for my half response ... I am also looking for job in India in IT, however so far I did not get much. Based on conversation with people its very difficult to get being physically away from India..
The salary range in my earlier post is from my neareast example ( my sis having 10 yrs Testing experience in US). She got her all offers through a search from naukri.com. Hope this helps you..

- There is a slight chance .Better do your home work -visit India for a month or so-attend interviews-get offer-come back-wrap up [repeat if no offer]
2) What are the salary standards for this kind of experience?
-12-18 LPA
3) What is the best way to start looking for a job?
-Friends/Linkedin;headhunters;company sites

I agree with the range given here.. 12-18L is precisely the range you would be getting. Anything more is for niche skills OR program/delivery management folks with responsibilities of managing single or multiple accounts depending on the $ size.
