Criminal / Background check in India

Hi

I have a question. I am planning to return to India soon but unfortunately I got my 1st DUI recently. I am planning to get over it and request for a non-reporting probation from the judge/court.

Question - Does Indian companies perform a background check in US (driving records etc.)? I am scared whether this DUI charge will be a hinderance to job search in India.

Pls advise.

Its disgusting to know the companies categorised DUI as serious concern. I am gobsmacked.
On other note how is the education verification carried for degrees undertaken in UK universities!

dbs, we all know that....everyone makes mistakes in their life....important thing is to learn from them & never repeat them....DUI is the worst mistake of my life....I know that..

I posted this thread just to know whether Indian companies do a US background check or not....

I hear certain MNC's do credit report and background verification using US public records, if the resume shows job history in USA. This is to safeguard themselves from scandals and make sure they employ right people.

I am not sure what weightage they would give for DUI. If it is ok in USA, probably it could be ok in India.
