I have been in the R2I job search market for quite a few months now and have not seen a decent progress yet. I get email from consultants where my profile matches and as they ask, I send my resume to them. After that I don't hear from them. Many of them says that in order to do something, you have to be here.
For that reason, I am trying my luck to be there for a week. I will be there in NCR region. I have one consultant who are ensuring me they can arrange some interviews but nothing has been confirmed. In order to get the best out of my trip what's else is the best I can do in this scenario?
Any suggestion guys?
Thanks a ton in advance.

Short Visit to India for Job Hunt - Pl. advice
IMHO references work very well in India.. Most of the jobs are getting filled only with internal references rather than advertising in job portals.. Also anything above 12-15L salary -- it must be thru' a reference.. The guy who is referring you should be in a authoritative position that will keep things smooth.
So I would suggest you to refresh your network list and find out what they are doing.. You will never know but will surely hit few guys who will not waste your time but give you valuable inputs to the openings they have/see around.

I moved to Chennai and have been here for 35 days. The only interview I had was through an internal reference. Every thing happens slowly here so coming down for a week or two weeks may not be helpful.

Thanks. Did you R2ied without a job or you are there for longer period to try your luck? I have decided to R2I without job, if I cannot make it within next few months. Let's see...

Let me correct that for you: Everything happens extremely slowly here.

Should we make that 350 instead of 35? :).
I started looking out from Mid March and finally have started seeing some momentum. But that's just restricted to just phone calls. Hoping for some F2F interviews to happen soon.

That's Great! So you moved back before getting the job? If I don't get something by next 2/3 months, I have to go without it and will try my luck there. In fact, I have my setup in Noida and I am in fact moving there in few months with or without a job in hand. Need to be there asap.
Thanks

Short Visit to India for Job Hunt - Pl. advice
I started my job search about three weeks back and primarily through friends and references back in India. I am still in the US. I have also posted on naukri and monsterindia and I get emails every day with matching jobs. So I contact the recruiter of that matching job and try to talk to him/her and all the recruiters have been helpful. Through references, I am hoping to get few interviews in the coming weeks. I have had initial discussions.
Also through one rectuiter, I am expecting a job interview soon. All this sitting here in the US. Things could go either way from here. If nothing materializes in the coming month or so, I plan to r2i and look for a job there. Let's see what happens.

I moved to India last year from US. My first stop in India was Ahmedabad and after moving there, I could find a job in 3 weeks time.
We moved to Noida 4 weeks back. I had quit my job in Ahmedabad before moving to Noida. Within 2 weeks I was able to find a job. I dont think finding a job would be in issue. Also depends on your expectations. The kind of salaries people talk about here on this forum are non existent and unheard of , mostly figment of imagination. If your expectations are realistic, I think it shouldnt be a problem. Let me know your skillsets and I would be able to refer you to some positions for which I interviewed.
