The beer necessity?

Post by dcnri2india »

All right guys and gals, here is a R2I adjustment question for you.

Hypothetically (me) a guy develops certain affinity to beer necessity. What is the beer scene in INDIA.

1) Do R2Iers give it up ? (blasphemy in my books:mad:)
2) The scene is so and so, mostly on rare occasion? (Not good )
3) It is still a social taboo so choose beer buddy with extreme care.(sigh)
4) No worries, all is well?:embeer:

No worries. 4 it is.
Posting from DC (I assume it is usa), I assume you mean lager (that is also called beer in India.) Plenty available (at least in Delhi NCR) and plenty consumed. Some times in parties, where I am not sure of the quality of whiskey offerred, I opt for beer and no eyebrows are raised.

Make sure to move to Goa. People drink everywhere, no restrictions at all. All shops and vendors sell it and is a part of the Goan social life. Any much cheaper than Delhi!

In South Indian colleges, not drinking beer was considered a 'sin' even in 95-96 times, so chill !

Last time I was in Goa. We had to go and get a permit to drink. Not too bad an experience but some questions on the form were:-
1. Piyakkad ka naam -- (Drunkard's name)
2. Pyakkad ke baap ka naam - (Drunkard's father's name)
and more in the same vein.

dbs yes it is USA.
It always gets awkward during evening get together when host want offer his fine whiskey and I mumble beer. I am usually open to local lagers but ultimately comes back to Heineken.

I see from your location "Noida". If things fall in place then we might join up for pitcher or two.

Cheers
