OVDI -- experience with processing times

This thread is for people to post the dates / time it took to process each stage along the OVDI process.

My experience...

OVDI letter reached IRS-CI on september 1st
Applied for 90 day extension: Letter reached september 6th

Havent heard anything so far on either. Called OVDI hotline and was told that an acknowledgement will be mailed for the extension.

^ There is a number posted on the IRS website : (215) 861-3759 that they say you can call for questions regarding your pre-clearance.

Apllied for extension on 8th september..Letter reached them on the 9th. Haven't heard anything yet.

^ Guys, about the 90 days extension request letter:
Did you just send out a plain letter only OR did you also attach other documents such as form 872 etc with the extension request. Pl let me know.

I sent the extension letter, forms to extend time to assess taxes ,FBAR penalties, OVDI-CI letter. The remaining are dependent on bank statements which i am awaiting.

I just sent a request for extension letter because I did not have any other documents with me and only 1 day before the deadline.
