Desperate mom needs help : Best pediatrician in Chennai

My 11 month old is diagnosed with pneumonia and is on antibiotics. My husband and I are really shaken by this. We have booked tickets to India (Chennai) mid Nov.

The worry we have is, finding a good pediatrician in Chennai to make sure he is doing better after reaching there and also for consulting on his health front

We live in Velachery. But Highly appreciate recommendations for good ones anywhere in Chennai.

The Pediatrician is in Santhome which shouldn't be too far from Velachery.

ragups;420669This was one of the things we had difficulty with when we returned, so I thought it'd be useful information for other folks r2i'ing to the Adyar area and thereabouts.

Much thanks to our neighbours for recommending our current paediatrician, Dr. Mahender of MRC Medical Centre in Santhome. As you head to the Marina from Adyar, take the right just after the India Cements office. The clinic is across the road from the Sun TV office.

Our experience suggests that he will listen to everything that you have to say to him and answer your questions without being condescending/dismissive. Most importantly, he has a certain calmness that is incredibly reassuring when your child is down with an illness.

We love the fact that he is not prone to medicating without good reason. Gave us all of the options that we had with respect to vaccination of the little ones and didn't force anything upon us, leaving us to make the choices.

We cannot recommend him enough. One of our most precious finds in Chennai.

We take our kid to Dr. V.K. Sairam in Anna Nagar (West) and we are very happy with him. Thanks to sumachechi from this forum who gave me his contact details.
