Why am I happy today? Well, let me tell ya'all.
I have okra, brinjal, bitter gourd, tomato, curry leaves, chillies, upcoming curry cucumber(vellarikayi), a pumpkin plant that grows without any fruit, long beans. Finished the cauliflower-need tog et more plants. Always have loved veg gardening. And agree, gives you the ultimate kick!

Besides being happy for RRS, I am also very happy for myself.
Ever since I came here, I have been strugling with my drives and any off fairway shots.
During may, in Noida and Delhi, I was driving 200+ yds consistently even 250+. Here I find my drives land 150 or at most 180 and die. Maybe, the Indian yards like evrything else are shorter than usa yards. (But Indian gallon is bigger than USA gallon, isn't it!)
I would have expected the cleaner air of usa help me carry the ball further, but it is no. maybe gravity is also stronger here. Anyway, got to live with that.
Another problem I have is with the usa grass. It is definitely tougher than Indian grass. All off fairway shorts, the iron has to struggle through tougher grass and I get less distance.
Finally figured it out. 90+ temperature but this guy came to pick me up, so I went and promptly got my first birdie this year in usa. Best was that my partner was a person know for meticulous counting of opponent's strokes, pointedly including mulligans, out of bounds and even free drops. So every one believed it.
I am indeed very happy today.

Two members of this forum and their families came over for a 4th of July barbecue at Casa B2Blr. Since I was the only carnivore, we had a vegetarian menu. Lots of beer, of course. Great conversation. It was well past midnight when we were done. Hope to meet more forum members in person.

Growing up, was enamored by Jacques Cousteau's adventures in the deep. What I couldn't dare to do, my 12-year old did it! He did his first scuba dive to the corals this weekend. To hear him narrate his encounter with schools of colorful fishes and a chance encounter with a nurse shark, I lived my dreams through the eyes and experiences of my kid. He was sort of apologetic for touching some fishes, as he was instructed not to touch them. But the fishes were many that he couldn't avoid brushing with them on his dive. Even more elating was that he helped his dive instructor, whose oxygen tank regulator started leaking. They carry 2 tanks so that if there is a need to help someone, they could help.
From seeing him play Nintendo's Endless Ocean on Wii to actually experiencing a dive, I am sure there is a lot on his mind. I hope this experience will help him become a better person. He is a class act. Mom and Dad a little prouder. :)

After many attempts, I finally managed to open a packet of milk today - without it spilling over my hands, counter top, on the floor, everywhere but into the bowl.
Am I too overconfident in thinking that I may have cracked the code? If I am able to repeat it for a few more days, I should create a Youtube video "How to open a milk packet in India"; I will be sure to post a link in this forum. :p
As an aside, one fellow-R2Iers told me last week that she will know she has successfully re-assimilated when she can also open the milk packet without incident.

In life, every small small thing matters,.. many people even do not know how, to tie shoe-laces,.. or say neck-tie properly,....
and,... say paajaama-strings,.. and many a times it gets stuck with 'mada-gaanth' at the end time, especially when the bell is rung,......... smtms while you are getting late to work it gives ya a tough time,........ and later even at worse times and that in that extreme darkness and when time is of extreme importance,..... you know !
We were having a shop of cloth-bundles and a carton of cloth was also having its trick, so that,
you pull just one string and it opens without any unnecessary force,... otherwise it remains tight and secure, holding the bunch of cloth-pieces in it.
In engineering we fold the plans ( 30x42 inch of papers ) so that it unfolds, without any hassel.
Many people even do not know how to take a medicine tablet out of that 12 pack and struggle from the hard side,......... pressing it out from the other side instead !
Many people even do not know how to take a toothbrush out of the carton and struggle from that hard plastic side,... looking on the back for perforation instead.
Many people even do not obey the perforation for Gutkha, and paan-parag masalas,.. or say,... 'cotraceptive pack' - how to fold the corner in triangle at that mini hole on da pack,... and struggle their own way to open those bags, finally tearing with teeth and geting gifts for Happy Father's day on a later run,.... To wear the contra. has also its tricks,. well,... i wil not get into it,... ya need to search for Sunny's vdo for that on YT,... ! Lol ;)
When I was in USA I always thought that it must need either the blade or the scissor to open a potato chips bag,
until one guy showed me a year later, about how to pull each side and pull apart.
Well,.. many still do not know how to close the potato chip bags without any clip !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-KncC7We4Q&feature=related
Many people dunno’ how to fold a shirt.
Many people, I daily see struggling opening the cans, jars, and using unnecessary and excessive force without following the proper instructions.
Many even do not know how to lock and unlock those YKK pant zippers and complaining of always getting it down,....... And smtms even worse complaining at some bad/bed time that that it does not open,………this prob. generally happens across the opposite sex and at the time of the –- do --.
Many even do not know how to take off hers neck-lace, earrings as they are unaware of those mini push buttons at the end to press, which you must press take the chain out.
This also problem generally,… --do--.
And, the thing happens,.. the entire song of "Kabhi-Kbahi" is finished,... but,.... Suhaag raat hai ghoonghat utha raha hun main,.....n' the task still remains uncompleted !
I was making my shave for years
and always knocking my razor at the marble walls of the sink’s bowl after every stroke, to remove the hairs stuck between the blades, in daily morning at least 25 times,…
until a guy showed me, a trick, to have the razor clean between those 4-5 lades without any annoyance. - filling a palstic bown of cup with water, and having a used old tooth brush immersed in it, and brushing the razor on that immersed toothbrush after every shave-stroke. Woow,... razor crystal clean, without any force !
How to tie a garbage bag, without strings also has its techniques,…
When I was a kid, i remember,...even to put the chain back of a bicycle had its own trick,…. And I had learnt it.
So,.. life is all about small small things ,… and I think we had a thread about small tips and techniques,………
Well,.... here is even a TED platform video ( 2 min. ) - How to tie shoes,... :)

Your R2I is successful not just with opening the milk packet without spilling, but when you pour some water to rinse out the milk droplets stuck inside the packet and not waste even a drop of milk! :)

To add further you will know that you won't ever R2A when you try to salvage spoiled milk by squeezing some lemon and trying to make Paneer out of it. :)
